I don't think that all open news is quality news, although it does allow us to see a large amount of information and get a lot of different views on various matters, but sometimes people may not have their facts write, the idea that 'everyone a journalist' is all well and good, but it does allow the chance for people to read incorrect information. There is also the problem mentioned in para 18, where stories can be replaced by other stories so fast that people may not even have chance to read them, it anyone can access the site to change the 'news' peoples opinions on whats the most important story might not be the same. The news is always changing and theres always a newer story.
E) Para 19 Can open news ever be completely open? Do people take different (possibly unequal) roles in collaboration?
I don't think open news will ever be completely open manly due to the fact anyone can contribute, anyone can add a story or change one that has already been posted, but how will we as an audience know if what they are saying is totally true. I think any open site you should be careful with when it comes to using it as a source to find out facts, as there is no way of knowing if what your reading is true, unless its on a closed professional specialised site.

Yeah, the reliability of "open" news websites is a bit, well, absent. And yes, websites could be moderated to delete the "dosgy" stories. But then again, then they wouldn't be "open" anymore.
